Knappogue Castle 14 year old
Matured in a combination of sherry and bourbon barrels, this creamy whiskey is also known as Knappogue Twinwood.
Our experts say: The marriage of the two barrels — one ex-oloroso — gives the whiskey a little more depth than its 12-year old younger brother. An initial aromatic scent of green apples, some citrus and vanilla stemming from its time spent in Bourbon barrels. On the palate, the classic toasted brioche notes that keep some people hooked on Irish single malts. This whiskey has a medium-to-long finish with white peaches, dates and a warm oaky finish – a cracking choice.
