Who We Are?
The Irish Whiskey Association of Japan was established in 1934. The I.W.A.J’s objective is to encourage the consumption of Irish Whiskey in Japan and to promote and spread consciousness for Irish and Celtic culture. Irish Whiskey was one of the earliest refined drinks in Europe, emerging around the 12th century and it is now the fastest growing and one of the most popular spirits around the globe, according to Distilled Spirits Council. As far as the earliest records go, It is the Irish who invented whiskey. Irish missionary monks brought the technique of distilling perfumes back to Emerald Isle from their travels way back some 1500 years ago and instead of refining scents, they found a superior use for their recently gained skills and they distilled alcohol thus the Irish whiskey was born.
We at I.W.A.J are inclined towards advancement and supporting familiarity of everything Irish including Music, Cuisine, Art, History, and Literature, and help all Irish Whiskey Distillers in their advancement and sales of Whiskey.
