The Irish Whiskey Association Japan is dedicated to the promotion of Irish Whiskey in Japan. It was established by Cartan McLaughlin and some like-minded aficionados who craved sharing the culture, history & heritage of Ireland with the Japanese over a dram.
“Uisce Beatha “is the Gaelic phrase for “Water of Life,” the genesis of the modern English word for “Whiskey.”

当法人の役割は、アイリッシュウイスキー及びその産業について世界的な関心の増進を図ることである。
当法人は、アイリッシュウイスキーの普及を社員共通の目的とするとともに、その目的に資するため、次の事業を行う。
- 日本においてアイリッシュウイスキーを普及すること
- アイリッシュウイスキーと日本のアルコール及びスピリッツ市場との協働関係を推進すること
- 日本の関連する団体と協働することにより、アイリッシュウイスキーの高水準の品質を推進すること
- アイリッシュウイスキーのカテゴリーを保護すること
- 日本におけるアイリッシュ及びケルト文化の啓蒙及び認知度の向上
- 日本におけるアイリッシュ音楽、食文化、芸術、歴史及び文学などの総合的な啓蒙及び認知度の向上
- 日本におけるアイリッシュウイスキーの持続可能な発展を維持するための公共の支援を確保すること
- その他前各号に掲げる事業に付帯又は関連する一切の業務
The purpose of I.W.A.J shall be the popularization of Irish Whiskey in Japan as a common targeted goal of its members, and engage in the following business:
- Promotion of Irish Whiskey in Japan;
- Promotion of the relationship between Irish Whiskey and the local Japanese Alcohol and Spirits Market;
- Promote and Support awareness of Irish and Celtic culture in Japan;
- Promote and Support awareness of everything Irish including Music, Cuisine, Art, History and Literature;
- To help any and all Irish Whiskey Distillers in their promotion and sales of Whiskey
